This policy explains how BuyTheLook uses cookies and similar technologies on buythelook.app.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and software development kits. We refer to all of them here as "cookies".
Categories we use
Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function. They keep you signed in, remember your session, secure the site against abuse, and store your cookie preferences. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics. Help us understand how the site is used, which pages are visited, and where people drop off, so we can improve the Service. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for this purpose. Clarity records how users interact with pages, including movement and clicks, in order to produce aggregated behavioural insights.
Functional. Remember choices you have made, such as your style preferences, so you do not have to re-enter them.
Affiliate and referral. When you click through to a retailer, a cookie may be set by that retailer or by an affiliate network so the retailer can attribute the visit to us and pay the commission described in our Affiliate Disclosure. These cookies are set by the third party, not by us, and are governed by that party's own privacy policy.
Advertising and measurement. Set by advertising platforms so we can measure what our ads and social posts actually lead to, and reach people who are likely to find the Service useful. We use the Meta Pixel and the TikTok Pixel for this. You can turn these off at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer, and we delete them when you do.

How long they last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a set period, typically between 30 days and 24 months depending on their purpose, and affiliate cookies typically expire between 7 and 30 days after the click. Advertising and measurement cookies last between 90 days (Meta) and 13 months (TikTok).
Your choices
On our site. Analytics, functional, and advertising cookies are set when you arrive on the Service. You can turn analytics and advertising cookies off at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer - a single switch controls both - and when you do we stop using them and delete the cookies they have already set. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off.
In your browser. All major browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.
Do Not Track. Our site does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals, as no common standard has been adopted.

We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. The date at the top shows the most recent revision.
